"Due to the recent and ongoing wet weather conditions, we were experiencing really bad water
leaks, which were only getting worse, through several areas of the roof and dormer at the back of our chalet bungalow. On the recommendation of a couple of people, we contacted SDW Building Services to have a look at the possibility of re-felting and re-tiling the roof and stripping and re-cladding the dormer.
Within 24 hours of first contact, Stuart came round to see us. We immediately felt at ease with him as he went through the work required to make our house water-tight again. This included a re-
model of the flat roof to the dormer as the original was of very poor design. The following day after the visit, we received a reasonable and detailed quote for the works, which we had no hesitation in
accepting. We already had a new window on order for the dormer with Attrill Glazing which included the replacement of this. Brian from Attrill Glazing worked along with SDW Building Services seamlessly.
We were given a start date of 6 weeks later, and the relief to see the SDW Building Services van arrive on that date was a very happy moment! Even though the weather was particularly shocking
most of that week, Stuart and John (who came to work with him), turned up on time and cracked on with the works. Their perseverance, dedication and hard work was extraordinary. They were absolute superstars doing all of this work in the wind, rain and even hail that we had on most of the days they were with us. Thankfully they were blessed with some sunny and dry weather. The work took 7 days, with the 8th day being only a couple of hours to carry out the finishing touches and tidying up.
It was an absolute pleasure having SDW Building Services do this work for us. Fantastic to deal with, polite, nothing was too much trouble, great attention to detail. The work they carried out looks amazing and done to a very high standard. We cannot thank them enough for what they have done for us. We have had a very difficult few months trying to stop the persistent wet weather from getting through into our home and we can now be worry free as it is now all fixed.
The new roof and dormer look exceptional and we are very glad we chose SDW Building Services to do this work for us. We cannot recommend them highly enough! We look forward to having them
back to do the same works to the front of our house next year."

We were given SDW’s details by our architect. Meeting with Stuart at the start of a protracted and quite complex update and extension of a 1930’s bungalow gave us a good feeling of being able to work with his company. The project was spread over three stages. His way of working, both practically and accounting, is very user friendly. His team of guys and managed sub contractors delivered what could have been a ‘sticky’ project went very well. During the 2 years communications were good, suggestions as to better options or just good ideas to improve the final product we’re forth coming. His team were very considerate of our neighbours which helped as the work was quite significant. I would have no issue recommending SDW for all building works , which in our case spilled into hard landscaping.
